12 injured in collision between two MSRTC buses in Mulshi | Pune News



Pune: Altogether 12 passengers were injured in a head-on collision between two MSRTC buses in Mulshi on Friday morning. The incident occurred at Chachivali village on Pune-Kolad Road, around 60 km from Pune. The injured passengers were admitted to a rural hospital in Paud. None of the passengers suffered severe injuries, Pune Rural police said.Sandeep Singh Gill, superintendent, Pune Rural police, said the driver of a Beed-bound bus from Shrivardhan in Raigad district discovered some issues with the brakes upon reaching Chachivali village in Mulshi taluka. The Pune-Kolad road is narrow, and to avoid any untoward incident, the driver attempted to turn the bus to the right. At the same time, another MSRTC bus, plying on the route between Chinchwad and Raigad, arrived at the location, he said.“The buses collided head-on at a turn on the road, injuring 12 people,” he said. After receiving information about the accident, the police and members of the Mulshi disaster management team arrived at the spot. “The injured passengers were immediately sent to the hospital,” Gill added.A case is being registered with the Paud police, the officer said.
