Mumbai: With the arrival of Ganeshotsav from Aug 27, those travelling to Konkan from Mumbai, Thane, and Palghar divisions to their villages for the festival gave their first preference to MSRTC. As a result, 4,479 state transport buses with group reservations, totalling 5,103 extra buses, were filled up so far, a senior official said on Friday.The bus corporation decided to operate a total of 5,200 extra buses between Aug 23 and Sept 7 this year. Along with individual reservations, in group reservations, Amrut senior citizens are being given a 100% concession, while senior citizens and women are being given a 50% concession on ticket rates.
