Four arrested for fatally stabbing youth in Nabi Karim; Hunt on for fifth suspect

New Delhi: After a 22-year-old man was stabbed to death in central Delhi’s Nabi Karim over an alleged long-standing neighborhood dispute on Aug 10, four men have been arrested in connection with the case, police said on Thursday. The victim sustained multiple stab wounds to his chest and neck and later succumbed to his injuries, officials confirmed.According to police, information about the murder was received on Aug 10, when Bansi, alias Pali, a resident of Amarpuri in Nabi Karim, was found with multiple stab wounds in Tel Mil Gali. He was rushed to a hospital but was declared dead on arrival. A case under sections 103(murder) and 3(5)(common intention) of BNS was registered at Nabi Karim police station.“A police team was formed that examined CCTV footage, conducted inquiries, and deployed technical surveillance, while search operations were carried out in Raghubir Nagar, Anand Parbat, Sadar Bazar, Paharganj, Nabi Karim, and nearby NCR areas,” said DCP (central) Nidhin Valsan.“Three suspects—Pravesh alias Rishi (20), Pankaj alias Kake (23), and Ajay alias Akshay (28), all residents of Ram Nagar, Nabi Karim—were apprehended first. Based on further information, another accused, Ashu (21), also from Ram Nagar, was arrested on Aug 12,” DCP Valsan added.Police said three of the accused—Pravesh, Pankaj, and Ajay—have previous criminal cases registered at Nabi Karim police station.Two blood-stained knives, believed to be the murder weapons, were recovered at the accused’s instance, along with the motorcycle belonging to the deceased and the blood-stained clothes worn during the crime. A fifth suspect, identified as Shiva, remains at large, and police said raids are ongoing to apprehend him. Further investigation is underway.
