Pune: The Bharati Vidyapeeth police have arrested a man, his parents and a relative in connection with the death of his wife (27). The woman was found dead in her apartment in Ambegaon Pathar on Saturday evening. The arrests were made after the woman’s 55-year-old father, a farmer from Solapur, filed a dowry harassment complaint.
He alleged that his daughter’s in-laws had been harassing her for a dowry of Rs20 lakh. Senior inspector Rahul Khilare of the Bharati Vidyapeeth police station said the deceased woman had married the workshop owner based in Pune in May of the previous year.
