Girl rescued after falling into manhole in southwest Delhi

New Delhi: A young girl fell into an open manhole while playing in southwest Delhi’s Najafgarh on Wednesday afternoon. According to police, the incident occurred around 2 pm near a store where a repair work was being carried out on a main sewer line. The girl, identified as Silki, daughter of a painter residing in Prem Nagar, went out alone when she accidentally fell into the uncovered drain.Fortunately, labourers present at the site acted quickly and managed to pull her out safely. Police said that caution tape was placed around the manhole, but the incident still raised concerns over safety in the area. tnn
