Warner Bros. has released the first full trailer for Evil Dead Burn, the latest entry in the long-running horror franchise created by Sam Raimi, and it promises another vicious descent into Deadite chaos.

Directed by Sébastien Vaniček, known for Infested, the film centres on a grieving woman who retreats to her in-laws’ isolated home after the death of her husband. What begins as an uneasy reunion quickly spirals into supernatural carnage as family members become possessed one by one, transforming the gathering into what the trailer describes as a “family reunion from hell.”

Among the trailer’s most disturbing moments are severed fingers, brutal impalements, ingested molten candle wax and a grisly sequence involving a dishwasher full of knives. The tagline, “Family is the root of all evil,” sets the tone for a film that appears determined to push the series’ gore to new extremes.

The cast includes Souheila Yacoub, Hunter Doohan, Luciane Buchanan, Tandi Wright and George Pullar. Vaniček co-wrote the screenplay with Florent Bernard.

The The Evil Dead franchise began with Raimi’s cult classic in 1981 before expanding through Evil Dead II, Army of Darkness, the 2013 reboot and 2023’s Evil Dead Rise. The universe also extended to television with Ash vs. Evil Dead, starring Bruce Campbell.

Campbell returns here as an executive producer alongside Evil Dead Rise director Lee Cronin, while Raimi and longtime collaborator Rob Tapert serve as producers.

Evil Dead Burn is scheduled to release in theatres on July 10, with another instalment, Evil Dead Wrath, already in development.
