Pune: The Shivajinagar police on Monday detained and released a man (30) from Pimpri Chinchwad for supplying sedative-laced tablet to some paan stall operators in Pune and Pimpri Chinchwad.A team headed by senior inspector Girish Dighavkar of Shivajingar police nabbed the man from a tempo parked on the FC Road on Monday. Police checked the tempo and found many packets of the tablets having some amount of contrabands.Dighavkar told TOI, “The paan stall operators from Pune and Pimpri Chinchwad used to buy these tablets from the man to put into the paan so that the customers buy paan for a particular kick.” Police seized tablets and a tempo, totally worth Rs 3.39 lakh. “We have served a notice to the man asking him to cooperate with the investigations”, Dighavkar said.
