NEW DELHI: The Delhi government has outlined key allocations across water, power, social welfare, environment, fire services and municipal services in the Budget for 2026–27, maintaining a focus on infrastructure, sustainability and welfare.Water (Rs 9,000 crore in 2026–27; Rs 9,000 crore in 2025–26)
- Rs 1,500 crore for STPs to clean Yamuna drains
- Rs 475 crore boost for Chandrawal plant
- Rs 475 crore to improve
water supply , reduce tanker dependence - Non-revenue water to be reduced from 45% to 15%
- 3 decentralized STPs approved; more planned
- Drainage master plan to tackle waterlogging
- Rs 610 crore for new drains and restoration
Power (Rs 3,983 crore in 2026–27; Rs 3,843 crore in 2025–26)
- Rs 3,942 crore for power sector
- Electricity subsidy to continue
- Push for solar under PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana
- Focus on energy self-reliance
- Rs 160 crore to underground 52.5 km power lines in Chandni Chowk
- Rs 2,000 crore proposed for underground HT and LT lines citywide

Social welfare & security (Rs 10,979 crore in 2026–27; Rs 9,337 crore in 2025–26)
- Rs 2,392 crore for social welfare; Rs 7,406 crore for women & child development
- Rs 75,100/month under Mahila Samriddhi Yojana
- Rs 12,483 crore for Delhi Lalitakrit Bima Yojana
- Rs 110 crore for Rajni Shah loan scheme
- Rs 25 crore for Savera Yojana
- Rs 40 crore for free bus travel for women; extended to transgender persons
- New hostel for visually impaired

Environment & cleanliness (Rs 822 crore in 2026–27; Rs 505 crore in 2025–26)
- Rs 3,000 crore for
pollution control and emergency measures - 35 lakh trees to be planted
- Rs 20 crore support to DPCC for monitoring systems
- Rs 1,500 crore to process cow dung into energy
Fire services (Rs 674 crore in 2026–27; Rs 530 crore in 2025–26)
- Rs 508 crore for new fire stations
- 26 quick response vehicles

MCD (Rs 11,266 crore in 2026–27; Rs 10,357 crore in 2025–26)
- Rs 1,000 crore for internal roads

- 16% reduction in legacy waste at Ghazipur, Bhalswa, Okhla
- Waste processing capacity increased to 8,500 TPD
- Expansion of plants at Okhla, Tehkhand, Ghazipur, Narela
- Homes for stray dogs with feeding facilities
