As per legend, Sarah believed she was haunted by the spirits of those killed by Winchester rifles. So she got this place constructed to appease the dead.
Today, there is a labyrinth of 160 rooms. Some staircases lead to nowhere, just dead ends. And some doors open into walls, odd right? This oddity inspired the 2018 film ‘Winchester’, starring Helen Mirren. Today it’s a famous tourist attraction in the state.
