New Delhi: A 32-year-old woman was murdered in central Delhi’s Patel Nagar on Saturday, allegedly by a man with whom she had an illicit relationship. The victim, a homemaker, was killed at her residence in the Baljeet Nagar area.According to police, they received information about a suspected murder at around 4.14 pm. “A police team immediately rushed to the location and found the woman’s body inside a room of her house,” said DCP (Central) M Harsha Vardhan.The woman, a resident of Baljeet Nagar, lived with her husband, who works as a salesman at a furniture store in Kirti Nagar. Initial investigation indicated that she had been strangled, and there were signs of a struggle at the scene, said police.A case has been registered, and forensic teams examined the crime scene. The accused, identified as Dharmendra Kumar (28), who works at a local printing press, was taken into custody shortly after the incident. Police said he had visited the woman’s house earlier that day.Investigators believe the murder followed a heated argument linked to their alleged relationship. “The motive appears to be an illicit relationship, and the murder seems to have occurred in a fit of rage after a quarrel between the two,” said DCP Vardhan.
