23-yr-old stabbed to death over Rs 2,000 debt in Jafrabad | Delhi News



New Delhi: A 23-year-old man was allegedly stabbed to death over a debt of just Rs 2,000 in northeast Delhi’s Jafrabad in the early hours of Thursday. The victim, identified as Fardeen, was a resident of the same area.According to police, a distress call was received at the Jafrabad police station around 12.10 am regarding a stabbing incident. Fardeen was rushed to JPC Hospital by his father, where doctors declared him brought dead.A senior police officer said the preliminary investigation revealed that Fardeen and a friend had taken shelter from the rain near Lane No. 10 when they encountered Adil, a man who had previously borrowed Rs 2,000 from them. “When Fardeen asked for the money back, Adil got enraged and allegedly stabbed him to death,” the officer said.The officer further added that Adil’s brother, Kamil, and their father Shakeel were also present during the altercation and allegedly instigated the attack. “Crime and forensic teams have examined the scene. A case has been registered, and multiple teams are working to trace and arrest the accused,” the officer added. The investigation is ongoing.This incident is the latest in a series of killings linked to financial disputes across Delhi-NCR.Earlier this week, a Burari-based businessman was allegedly murdered in Baghpat, Uttar Pradesh, by a tantrik who owed him Rs 40 lakh. In another case, a domestic helper in Lajpat Nagar killed his employer and her 14-year-old son following a disagreement over a Rs 45,000 advance.On May 28, a man from east Delhi murdered his girlfriend, packed her body in a suitcase, and dumped it in Hapur, Uttar Pradesh, after she asked him to repay Rs 2 lakhs out of the Rs 5.3 lakhs he owed her.
