18-year-old boy stabbed in E Delhi, two booked

New Delhi: An 18-year-old youth was stabbed in east Delhi’s Gandhi Nagar on Wednesday morning after he confronted two men over their alleged inappropriate comments towards a girl.Police said the victim, Ajeem, a resident of Old Seelampur, was attacked around 8.30 am while he was coming down the stairs of his residence. According to his statement, the accused, identified as Shane Alam (21) and Shadab (25), both from Lakhimpur Kheri district and living in the same building, passed remarks at a passerby girl a day earlier, leading to an altercation. The matter was temporarily resolved by Ajeem’s brother and maternal uncle, police said.“However, the next morning, Shadab allegedly restrained Ajeem while Shane stabbed him in the right side of his abdomen using a thread trimmer, resulting in critical injuries. Ajeem’s maternal uncle, Mahfooz Ali, rushed him to a hospital and also handed over the weapon to doctors,” the officer added. tnn
