Mumbai: Mumbai witnessed many idol immersions on Thursday as part of the Durga visarjan festivities. According to the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC), a total of 1,574 idols were immersed across the city by 9 pm.Of these, 355 were Sarvajanik (community) idols, while 1,219 were Gharguti (household) idols. Civic officials said no untoward incident was reported during immersion.
