Nashik: A 13-year-old boy died while his friend sustained injuries after their cycle was hit by a Nashik Mahanagar Parivahan Mahamandal Ltd (NMPML) Citilink bus on Wednesday.According to the Mhasrul police, the incident occurred around 2.15pm when the deceased (Sanket Gavli) and his friend (Aryan Waghmare) were riding a bicycle.As per the complaint registered by Nagoji Gavli (51), father of the deceased who works as a watchman at a construction site at Kishor Surywanshi Marg in Mhasrul, the duo were coming from Omkar Chowk to Kansara Chowk on Kishor Suryawanshi Marg when the bus coming from opposite direction knocked down their bicycle.The complainant also claimed that the bus was coming in the wrong direction. Both Sanket and Aryan were injured in the accident and taken to a hospital, while the bus driver allegedly fled from the scene after the accident.“Sanket died late at night while undergoing treatment, while the condition of Aryan is stable,” a police officer said.The bus driver has been booked under section 106 (1) (causing death by negligence and other relevant sections) of the BNS along with section 134 (for failing to report the incident to police, providing medical care to the injured) of the MVA.
